- Students' Council Co-President Campaign Week is underway. JL students, you have five candidates running for next year's Co-President positions. Read their posters, speak with the candidates, listen to their speeches today and vote tomorrow. If you want next year to be great, exercise your power and vote.
- Next week is Wellness Week here at JL Ilsley. Today is wear comfy clothes for our wellness assembly and students' council speeches. Workout Wednesday: wear athletic attire and visit a therapy dog. Throw it away Thursday: wear something that can get dirty and pick up some garbage around the school yard. Fellowship Friday: wear JL gear or purple to promote togetherness. We will look to get a huge group photo at lunch in the field or gym (depending on the weather)
- Meeting in Ms Winters' Room 341, Wednesday, at lunch for anyone who is interested in playing Girls Softball this season.
- The Leadership 12 class is hosting a Horizons Leadership Conference here at JL Ilsley on Wednesday May 15th. This one day conference costs $25 to attend. Registration Fee covers attendance for 2 keynote speaks, student led activities, share session, grant opportunities, prizes, snacks, lunch, and lanyard. You can register using the Google Form and pay through school cash or visiting Ms. Parker. Posters are around the school with the QR code for the registration form. Any other questions can be directed to Mr. Burbridge in room 326
- There will be an organizational meeting for those interested in participating in the Best Buddies program at lunch today, in room 238. Best Buddies is an opportunity to form lasting, mutually beneficial friendships with your classmates in the Learning Centre. Buddies will participate in a variety of activities, learn about inclusion and community building, and will have access to opportunities such as scholarships. Bring your lunch and come talk about what this program could look like at JL moving forward. All grades are welcome.
- The first tryout for Boys Softball is today at Graves Oakley Field from 4 - 5:30pm. Anyone interested in trying out for the Boys Softball Team should sign up in the Google Classroom or see Mr. Langille in room 343.
- Want an easy and fun way to celebrate Earth day this week? Come to room 214 at lunch on Friday, April 26th, and participate in rock painting or make a reusable bag out of an old T-shirt! We encourage you to bring your own T-shirt, we will already have rocks to paint. That is rock painting and upcycling on Friday at lunch in Ms C's room, room 214 with Equity team
- A reminder that Y Leaders is tomorrow at lunch in room 304 for all Leaders and Mentees. See you there!
